| Location | The start/finish for all events is at the Ohiwa Harbour end of Ohope Beach, on Harbour Road (Google Map). The start/finish is just under 6km from the round-about at the bottom of the hill in Ohope. It is only a 15 minute drive from Whakatane and little over an hour from either Rotorua or Tauranga. |

| Registration | Online: You may register online at a discount up until 1pm the day before the race. Online entries are open On race day: You can register at the venue on race day or at race packet pickup on Saturday. |

| Fundraising for SPCA | The Doggie Dash is a fundraiser for the Whakatane and SPCA. Ten dollars from every entry is donated to the SPCA. In addition, you may choose to donate extra to this worthy group, either when you enter or at the venue. |

| Spot Prizes | There will be some great spot prizes from our generous sponsors, especially our main sponsor - Fitness Fusion exercise equipment. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| Refunds | If you withdraw before March 1 you will incur a $10.00 admin. fee. There will be no refunds after that date. In the case of a natural disaster, or road close for reasons such as landslide, flooding or a storming of the beaches by Pirates there will be no refund. |

| Chip timing | Chip timing will be used, courtesy of activetiming NZ | ||
| Running or walking | You may either run, jog or walk all events. There is no time limit. | ||

| Start/finish | The start and finish for all events will be on Harbour Road at Ohiwa Harbour. | ||
| Half Marathon course | The Half Marathon will be 95% on road. There will be a short off-road section near the start (at about the 2km point) along a clearly defined dirt track. Two short stretches (100-200 metres) will be on grass. There will be a few rolling hills near the start. Ohope is the perfect location for this run - you will not cover the same ground in the same direction twice. The event will be sanctioned by Athletics New Zealand (WBP1001). See a proposed course map

| 10k course | The 10km run / walk will start in the same direction as the Half Marathon and take in the small rolling hills near the golf course at the start. On your return journey you will depart from the Half Marathon course, run over the sand dunes and along the beach, returning via Ocean Road and Harbour Road. This course has little traffic. | Doggie Dash course | The Doggie Dash will start in the same direction as the other two events but will not continue as far towards the Golf Course. Proportionately more time will be spent on the beach and on Ocean Road. | ||
Athlete Nutrition |
Water and sports drink will be available for all competitors (including canines). | ||
| Traffic: | The 10k and Doggie Dash are on roads with very minimal motor vehicle traffic. The Half Marathon course can be expected to have light traffic. STMS-supervised traffic marshalls will be on course on race day for your safety. | ||
